A nest in the heart of Lisbon
Casa Pavão is a charming town house located in Lapa, next to the fabulous Estrela Garden and its basilica, the fashionable Santos district and its small cafés, the pretty boutiques of Principe Real, the romantic Praça das Flores, the mythical Tram 28 and the trendy bars of Cais do Sodré.
Casa Pavão (Peacock House) owes its name to the bird that struts its stuff in the neighbouring park which symbolises beauty, freedom and, above all, rebirth....
Old-time charm with a portuguese design twist
After several years of renovation, our house has completed its transformation. Behind its turquoise azulejos façade, the DNSJ architecture studio has marvellously preserved the charm of the old stone house with its wooden shutters, while creating a modern, bright extension in zinc and glass.
We were keen to source most of our materials and furniture in Portugal, so you'll find not only iconic elements like the terrazzo floors made from marble off-cuts, the Alentejo blue Gonzalo chairs in curved tube or the ceramic and glass crockery, but also lighting and furniture from Atelier Dobra, the brand that we created and for which we only work with local companies around Lisbon.
A hidden garden
Casa Pavão has 2 family suites, each able to accommodate 2 adults and up to 3 children (+ 1 baby) and a double bedroom.
You'll find also a large living room / dining room, an open kitchen and a garden where you can stroll in the shade of a lemon tree when it's too hot to wander the steep streets of Lisbon...
